BACK FROM THE GREECE is the debut solo record from Montreal's PAT METEOR (DEMON'S CLAWS)!  Rembetika traditionals heard through a dank haze of eerie psych and grimy garage rock wails!  In Pat's own words "Greek blues...to my hears is more punk that most everything i heard before"!

 

 

"In my quest to find Indian music I found the great compilation Greek-Oriental Rebetica (Songs and Dances In The Asia Minor Style - The Golden Years: 1911-1937), released by Folklyric

Records (CD7005) in 1991. I had no idea what it was and didn’t realize it was music from Greece (born Athens Piraeus after the great catastrophe 1919) until I hear the music in a 

café on my first trip to Greece in 200X with D(emon's) C(laws). 

Ever since I got obsessed by this genre also called Greek blues and to my hears is more punk that most everything I heard before. Listening to that music all the time is the reason why you can hear a huge influence on this recording and hopefully you will want to explore more of the world of Rembetika music."
