THE MEANING OF KENT - by Seany "Sauce"

The Meaning
Of Kent
Who is
a Kent
Boy and what is Kent? This
is a
valid
question and to understand the
true
meaning
of Kent, you must educate yourself
on the
four
elements of nature - Earth, Wind,
Fire
and Water.
Wind
- the
second element- resembles Kent
Boy Darren
Clarke.
A gentle giant with song
and melody
that
could tame a spring breeze.
But like
a hurricane
with his flurry of drum
beats
Clarkey
picks the crowd up off their
feet
and sends
them spinning around the dance
floor.
Plowing
everything in his way he clears
the path
for a
pleasant storm people will
be talking
about
for days and days after
the main
event.
By creating
such
a storm Clarkey then ignites
the third
element
- fire. Like the other
elements
fire
can be both calming and intimidating.
Kent
Boy Bradley-Boy
shines light on your
darkest
moment
and provides warmth to any
frigid
situation.
When accompanied by the
tornado
on the
drums Bradly-Boy burns wild
with
his bellowing
laughter and phantom like
screems
between
verses. You are left watching
in a
blaze
of amazement how dreams and passion
are brought
together
to create a glorious
spectacle.
Born
under
the aquarius sign it is only fitting
that
Kent
Boy Poor Pelly bares the element
of water.
Streaming
wind and fire together
Pelly
flows
harmony and a sense of controlled
chaos
throughout
the band. But like a splash
of cold
water
on the face, Pelly's wit and
lyricism
will
wake-up an idle mind by cutting
through
the wave
instead of riding it like
most.
With
only
three band members the remaining
element
must
take on two vital rolls. Earth
not only
receives
a constant beating by the
stomping
feet
of both band and crowd, but
it also
keeps
the Kent Boys grounded. No
matter
the extent
of fortune and fame the
Kent
Boys
will always carry oversized hearts
to bend
over
backwards and help family and
friends.
Though
marionettes
who cut their strings
along
the way,
the Kent Boys are still moved
by one
puppet
master... the music. Their
animated
performance
accompanied by the flooded
dance
floors
provide us with the definition...
Kent
means
Music and Music is Life.
Good
luck
on your tour Guys!

Review
of "Atticus
Finch" CD Release
show
03/24/07
by Will McGuirk
Kent
Boys
As I
write
this I'm purdy shure the Kents
are still
playing.
They must have played
for three
hours
tonight at their CD release
party
in the
ol' 'ome town of Orono at the
Town
Hall.
Again what a brilliant night at
a brilliant
venue.
Plus sandwiches for all.
Non stop
sweaty
black grass that sent vibes
of luv
through
all present. I didn't know
the Boys
had so
many freaking songs and nary
a miss
among
them. The new tracks of the
Atticus
Finch
CD set feet stomping and hands
clapping
and when
the band announced they
were
not leaving
until soundman and fellow
player
Billy
Blasko joined them on stage
for a
song
there was an immediate push on
Billy
to get
up just so we could all go home.
Too much
of a
good thing should be on the
Kent
Boys
family crest. Apart from I think
two covers,R.E.M.
Its The
End Of The World
and the
Dead
Milkmen's Punk Rock Girl, the
songs
were
all originals by this trio of
multi-instrumentalist
who played
musical
chairs
with
guitar, banjo, wash tub bass
and drums.
The variations
were announced
by a
thunderous
shout of "Snowball".
The Kents
are off
and running on a cross
Canada
Spring
fling now and we wish them
well.
