“Do we really
need another punk rock band? If said band is The
Fabulous Kildonans, you’re damn right we do, bub.
Starring singer-guitarist Fat Johnny, drummer
Sterling and ubiquitous bassist and punk legend
Mark Stretch Mark, the Kildonans are one of the
few bands around that deserve their Fabulous
designation. And we’re not talkin’ in some
Designer Guys sense (though we do approve of
their red shirts and ties). We’re talking fab in
the garage-punksense- and that means searing
guitar riffs, a propulsive and spot-on rhythm
section, lyrics with a healthy dose of dumbbell
humor, vocals that are snotty enough to be
contagious, and urgent four-chord anthems that
simultaneously swear allegiance to punk (without
devolving into cliche) and rock out (without
succumbing to self-parody). Fabulous?
Absolutely, brother.”
- Darryl Sterdan, Winnipeg Sun
"The patrons of Ted's Wrecking Yard in Toronto
last week got more than their money's worth when
the Fabulous Kildonans hit the stage with a
sonic set of hard rockin' punk...”
- Chuck Molgat, Exclaim! Magazine
"The Fabulous Kildonans have quickly gained a
reputation as Winnipeg's hottest live act.
Nudity, firecrackers and hooky three-minute
power rock anthems… makes me want to punch a
mirror. Rah!”
- Kari D.,
Chart Attack
"Sounds like a buzzsaw soaked in beer. The
Kildonans seem to be serious about having a good
time... and that is what you get with
smart-mouth pop-punk and raucous, rambunctious
riff-rawk. Virtually every track has a
razor-sharp chorus that will stick in your head
for days"
Winnipeg Sun
"The Fabulous Kildonans blast out rippin' punk
rock... red shirts & black ties are a bonus!
- Bartley Kives, Winnipeg Free Press
"While few things can capture the general
insanity of a Fabulous Kildonans live show, the
hard-rocking punk trio's debut CD is the next
best thing.”
- Manitoba Audio Recording Industry Association
(MARIA)
"The FK's are a band that look as good as they
sound. One of the best live bands currently
playing in Winnipeg!"
- Rob Williams, Winnipeg Sun
“(God is a woman)... is band's strongest
collection of songs up to this point!”
- CMU Newspaper
"... the fabulous what? Who are these guys? Get
this stuff off my stage!”
- Stephen Pearcy (Ratt)
"the Fabulous Kildonans march south and declare
North Dakota a musical consulate with a barrage
of catchy, three minute blasts"
- John Lamb, the Forum
"Local bassist Stretch Mark loses finger to lawn
mower”
- Winnipeg Sun Entertainment Headline
"Yes we did give them a permit for a
pyrotechnics display. Why?"
